Ghising assures timely elections, urges citizens to pick right leader
KATHMANDU: Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and Urban Development Minister Kulman Ghising has assured that the upcoming elections will be held on schedule, with no reason for doubt.
Speaking at an interaction program today at the Indigenous Peoples’ Hall in Belbari Municipality, Minister Ghising said the interim government formed after the Gen Z had a primary responsibility to address immediate issues and create a conducive environment for elections. “We have no budgetary constraints; there is no financial obstacle to holding the elections. The main role of this government is to conduct the polls on Falgun 21 and provide stability to the country,” he stated.
On nation-building, he emphasized that the real foundation lies in the people’s mindset, character, and capabilities. Commenting on political leadership, he said, “The country cannot progress unless the right person becomes Prime Minister at the right time. Seventy-five years of experience have shown that political change alone does not develop a nation.”
He urged citizens to view the upcoming elections as a major opportunity and to choose the right leadership for the country’s future.
