A World Peace Program will be held in Lumbini on December 11-13, with the participation of 25 billionaires.

Under the main theme “Peace for a Prosperous Future”, the third edition of the World Peace Program will take place in Lumbini and Ramgram.

The event will bring 25 billionaires to Nepal for their first collective visit, where they will also explore investment opportunities in the country.

According to media coordinator Sulochana Khatiwada, the program will see the participation of more than 10,000 people, including national and international leaders, scholars, UN cultural ambassadors, internationally renowned businesspersons, artists, youth, and community representatives.

She added that the aim is to create a space where members of policy-makers, entrepreneurs, scholars, artists, community leaders, and youth, can sit together, listen deeply, and explore concrete ways to integrate peace into governance, education, climate action, investment, culture, and daily life.

Notable attendees include Sureshkumar Madhusudhanan, Chairman of Sigal International Group in Kerala, India; Lojze Peterle, the first Prime Minister of independent Slovenia and former Member of the European Parliament; Tamrat Layne, former Prime Minister of Ethiopia; and  Siddique Ahmed of Eram Holdings, a major business group operating in the UAE and India.

The third edition of the World Peace Program will emphasise Nepal’s spiritual heritage, centering on peace and prosperity. The program will feature deep conversations on meditation, wisdom, and societal issues, Khatiwada said.

She added that the gathering aims to reaffirm peace as the foundation of human progress and sustainable development.

According to her, the program aligns closely with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.

The two-day program will include discussions and dialogues on themes such as peace, climate change, development, inner well-being, social justice, practical peacebuilding, daily leadership, and local governance. It will focus on the voices of youth, women, indigenous communities, and marginalized groups for a more peaceful and prosperous future.

The event will also feature cultural performances, music, and artistic expression sessions.

On December 12, a major lamp-lighting ceremony will be held at the Ramgram Stupa, where thousands of lamps and prayers will be offered simultaneously for peace in Nepal and across the world.

Representatives from the United Nations, cultural ambassadors, leading philanthropists and business leaders, mayors and local governments, universities and schools, youth networks, women’s groups, civil society, and other experts from Nepal and abroad will participate.
