NIC Asia Bank joins hands with NCHL to launch NEPALPAY Card

KATHMANDU: NIC Asia Bank has signed a strategic agreement with Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL) to issue the NEPALPAY Card to its valued customers, aiming to further enhance the nation’s payment system.

The agreement was signed by NIC Asia Bank CEO Sujit Kumar Shakya and NCHL CEO Nilesh Man Singh Pradhan.

Under this partnership, NIC Asia Bank becomes a key partner for issuing the NEPALPAY Card under NCHL’s Domestic Card Scheme, which operates with authorization from the Nepal Rastra Bank as a Payment System Operator (PSO).

he bank is also established as a principal partner of NCHL’s National Card Switch (NPS–NCS).

The collaboration enables the bank to fully integrate into Nepal’s National Payment Switch, providing customers with access to NEPALPAY, a homegrown digital card.

Transactions made through POS and ATM networks across the country will follow a national fee structure, ensuring consistency and transparency.

Through this initiative, NIC Asia Bank aims to offer its customers modern, reliable, and nationally standardized domestic card services, reaffirming its commitment to advancing digital banking in Nepal.

The bank believes that the NEPALPAY Card will play a vital role in expanding financial inclusion, promoting cashless transactions, and supporting the development of a digital economy.

Active participation of customers in the Domestic Card Scheme will make banking services simpler and more accessible, contributing to a cashless, inclusive financial system in Nepal.
