Kathmandu, Dec 1: About 120 parties have approached the Election Commission seeking a place in the March 5 House of Representatives poll.

Party registration had originally been open from November 17 to 26, then the commission gave an extra four days.

According to EC spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, all 120 parties submitted their documents along with distinct election symbols by Sunday. The commission will screen the applications and issue its final list by December 6.
