KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki held discussions with a delegation of families of martyrs who attained martyrdom during the Gen Z demonstrations.

According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, the meeting focused on the actions taken by the government in line with the mandate of the demonstrations.

The delegation, led by Bhoj Bikram Thapa, said the government should not speak only about elections but must also take action against corruption and immediately arrest those who used force to suppress the movement.

The delegation also reminded the government that the previously submitted 14-point demand must be implemented without delay, and warned that the situation should not be allowed to escalate to the point of requiring a renewed protest.

In response, Prime Minister Karki said the government was serious and sincere about the mandate of the movement and the demands of the martyrs’ families.

Minister for Youth and Sports Bablu Gupta, Chief Secretary Suman Raj Aryal and other high-ranking officials were present in the meeting.
