Clash between NCP & UML in Upper Dolpa
KATHMANDU: A clash broke out between workers of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) and the CPN-UML over election matters in Upper Dolpa’s northern region on Monday afternoon.
According to Development Board candidate Bikash Budha, the altercation occurred around 2 PM when a UML campaign team was discussing election issues with local leaders, and NCP members reportedly pelted stones at them.
Several UML workers were injured while trying to escape the attack.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Ruk Bahadur Khadka of the District Police Office said the confrontation arose when members of both parties met on the road during campaigning.
A police team has been dispatched to investigate the incident further.
Security authorities in Saldang reported that while the clash initially created tension in the area, the situation has since stabilized.
Following the incident, the UML team reportedly retreated via Rap village toward the Dha Valley of Dolpa Buddha Rural Municipality.
