NEPSE slips further as market sentiment weakens

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) continued its declining trend on Monday, following a drop of nearly 26.5 points on Sunday.

NEPSE fell by 4.28 points, or 0.16%, to close at 2,645.24 points.

Among the traded companies, 224 saw their share prices rise, 126 experienced a decline, and 8 remained unchanged.

The higher number of declining stocks contributed to the overall dip in the index by over 4 points.

Monday’s trading recorded 60,620 transactions, with 10,860,828 shares exchanged, amounting to a total turnover of Rs 471.63 crore.

This is lower than Sunday’s trading volume, which stood at Rs 708.54 crore.

Of the 13 sub-indices traded, Banking, Investment, Hotel & Tourism, Life Insurance, Mutual Funds, Others, and Trading sectors saw a decrease, while the remaining sectors showed moderate gains.
