KATHMANDU: Renowned journalist and author Dipendra Raj Timsina passed away on Tuesday at the age of 45.

He had been admitted to Medcity Hospital in Kathmandu a week ago due to high blood pressure and was later referred to Kathmandu Medical College for further treatment.

Family sources confirmed that he died during ongoing treatment there.

A resident of Pathari Shanishchare Municipality–1 in Morang, Timsina was active not only in journalism but also in research and publishing.

His notable works include Telephone Diary, Nepal Jaycees, Bhutanese Refugees, Timsina Bandhu, Pathari Shanishchare Municipality, and Itihasma Gumnam Bise Nagarchi, among others.

Recently, he was engaged in research on Nepal Bank and banking history.

He is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter.
