ACHHAM: Chadena, a remote village in Ramroshan Rural Municipality–4 of Achham district, has finally been connected to the national road network this year, ending decades of isolation.

While most settlements in the municipality had already gained road access, Chadena remained cut off for years.

With the completion of the new road, locals expect improved mobility, better access to education and healthcare, and easier transportation of daily essentials.

Devraj Khanal, principal of Nawadurga Basic School in Chadena, confirmed that the village has now been officially linked to the road network. “This year, Chadena village has been formally connected to the road system. This will significantly contribute to the overall development of the village. I thank everyone who made this possible,” he said.

According to Khanal, the road expansion was completed through the special initiative and active efforts of Ward Chairperson Tarkaraj Upadhyaya and Ramroshan Rural Municipality Chairperson Man Bahadur Saud.

Khanal himself had long been campaigning for road and electricity access, coordinating with local and central government authorities.

Local residents believe that the new road will accelerate the village’s economic, social, and educational development. They also expect increased opportunities in agriculture and trade.

However, despite the road connection, Chadena still lacks electricity. Locals have urged authorities to ensure that power supply is extended to the village as soon as possible.
