Mahendranagar, Feb 26: Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel held discussions with the provincial security mechanism regarding preparations for the upcoming elections in the Far West Division at Teghri, Kailali.

During his inspection, he directed that election security arrangements be carried out in a flawless and coordinated manner. Following the meeting, he also instructed subordinate units to remain fully prepared. The Chief District Officers of Kailali and Kanchanpur participated in the discussion.

In view of election security, the Nepal Army has already taken responsibility for securing the prison, airport and the Oil Corporation depot in Dhangadhi. Patrols have been intensified across all nine districts of the Far West, and necessary preparations have been completed.

Chief of Army Staff Sigdel is also scheduled to inspect the North West Division in Surkhet as part of his election security review.
