Kathmandu, November 20: Prime Minister Sushila Karki held discussions on Sunday with the families of those who were martyred in the Gen-Z movement.

During the meeting held at Singha Durbar, the delegation of martyrs’ families raised questions about the government’s actions in line with the mandate of the movement and about their demands, the PM’s Secretariat stated.

Led by Bhoj Bikram Thapa, the delegation expressed the view that it was not only about holding elections but also necessary to take action against corruption and to immediately arrest those who suppressed the movement. Emphasizing that the 14-point list of demands previously submitted to the government must be implemented without delay, they also warned that they could resume protests otherwise, according to the Secretariat.

Youth and Sports Minister Bablu Gupta, Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal Sumanraj Aryal, and others were also present at the discussion.

According to the Secretariat, PM Karki and Minister Gupta said the government is serious and sincere regarding the mandate of the Gen-Z movement and the demands of the martyr families. The PM expressed the government’s commitment to take necessary steps to address the demands of the martyr families.
