KATHMANDU: Global IME Bank Limited’s initiative, Global Haat Bazaar, aimed at promoting products of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), has successfully completed its 50th week of operation.
Launched on Nov 6, 2024, the weekly bazaar facilitates the marketing of locally made products, helping entrepreneurs reach wider audiences and overcome the common challenges of product commercialization.
To celebrate the milestone, the bank organized a special event at its Kamaladi branch in Kathmandu on Friday.

Speaking at the event, CEO Surendra Raj Regmi highlighted the bazaar’s role in addressing the marketing challenges faced by small and medium enterprises.
He emphasized that the platform allows producers—from food manufacturers and farmers to artisans and sustainable entrepreneurs—to display and sell their products directly to consumers.

“The bazaar not only promotes market access for MSMEs but also strengthens the connection between farmers and consumers, ensuring fair prices for agricultural produce,” Regmi said. He further noted that the initiative supports organic, indigenous, and local products, encouraging sustainable economic practices while boosting confidence among Nepali producers.

Regmi acknowledged that the success of Global Haat Bazaar over 50 weeks was made possible by the trust and support of both entrepreneurs and buyers.
He expressed optimism that the bazaar will continue to expand in the future, potentially evolving into a nationwide celebration of thousands of local markets.

Highlighting the bank’s broader social commitment, Regmi added that Global IME Bank goes beyond lending by promoting entrepreneurial development and skill enhancement, contributing to the overall growth of MSMEs across Nepal.
