NIC ASIA Bank signs strategic agreement with NCHL
Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: NIC Asia Bank Limited has signed a strategic agreement with Nepal Clearing House Ltd. (NCHL) for issuing Nepal Pay Card to its customers. The agreement was signed by Mr. Sujit Kumar Shakya, CEO of NIC Asia Bank and Mr. Nilesh Man Singh Pradhan, CEO of NCHL amid a program.
As per the agreement, the bank has become the nodal partner for the issuance of the Nepal Pay Card to its customers under the domestic card scheme being operated by NCHL as a payment system operator from Nepal Rastra Bank and has established the bank as the lead partner of NCHL’s National Card Switch.
This agreement will also help the bank to fully integrate with the National Payment Switch of Nepal and also open the doors for the issuance of NepalPay Card, popularly known as the domestic card. The agreement also ensures that all transactions done through POS and ATM networks across the country will be maintained under the national fee structure. The agreement with the bank is in line with its unwavering commitment towards digital banking, ensuring access to modern, reliable and national standard domestic card services to the bank’s customers.
The bank believes that digital payment through Nepal Pay Card will contribute to the expansion of financial access in the country. In addition, the active participation of the bank’s customers in the domestic card scheme will help in providing easy and easy banking services as well as to develop a cashless economy in the country.
