Maximum limit of loans allowed to microfinance institutions doubled

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has increased the maximum limit for loans allowed by microfinance institutions.
The central bank, through its first quarterly review of the monetary policy for the current fiscal year, has increased the maximum limit of loans that microfinance institutions can disburse. Now, microfinance institutions can issue loans up to Rs 15 lakh.
Earlier, microfinance institutions were allowed to issue loans up to Rs 7 lakh.
Similarly, the existing limit of personal overdraft loans provided by banks and financial institutions is Rs. From Rs. 50 lakhs to Rs. It will be Rs 1 crore.
