Thapa condoles Nepali worker’s death in Israeli attack
KATHMANDU: President of the Nepali Congress, Gagan Thapa, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of a Nepali migrant worker in the recent attack in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
In a condolence message issued on Tuesday, Thapa paid heartfelt tribute to the deceased and extended sympathies to the bereaved family.
He urged all Nepali nationals residing in the affected region to remain highly vigilant and prioritize their personal safety amid the evolving security situation.
Highlighting the vulnerability of Nepali citizens living and working in conflict-prone and insecure areas, Thapa called on the Government of Nepal to strengthen precautionary measures and coordination mechanisms to ensure their protection.
He further emphasized the need to intensify diplomatic efforts, urging the government to adopt a more proactive, effective, and result-oriented approach to safeguarding Nepalis abroad.
Thapa stressed that the safety of Nepali migrant workers must remain a top national priority, particularly during times of heightened regional instability.
Additionally, Thapa appealed to the Nepali Congress Public Relations Committee, the Non-Resident Nepali Association, and the wider Nepali community overseas to play an active role in identifying Nepalis in distress and extending necessary assistance and coordination.
He noted that collective responsibility and timely support from community organizations can be crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of Nepali citizens during emergencies abroad.
