Amresh Kumar Singh decides to join RSP
KATHMANDU: Amresh Kumar Singh, former Nepali Congress leader and member of the dissolved House of Representatives, has decided to join the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).
He announced his decision through a social media post on Friday evening.
“I will formally begin my new political chapter at the RSP programme in Janakpur, the birthplace of goddess Sita, on January 19. The voice that I raised against corruption and misgovernance as an independent will now be stronger,” Singh wrote on his Facebook page. “I invite everyone who supports the development of education, health, employment, and infrastructure in Madhesh and the country to join me at the event.”
Singh contested the 2022 general elections from the Sarlahi-4 seat of the House of Representatives as an independent candidate after he was denied a ticket by the NC. He defeated the party’s official canidate by more than 2,000 votes.
