KATHMANDU: President Ramchandra Paudel has called on all Nepalese, especially the younger generation, to ensure the success of the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21, emphasizing it as a crucial step toward a secure future for the country.

Speaking at the diamond jubilee held today at Tribhuvan Secondary School in Balewa, Baglung, the President stressed that the election is vital for fulfilling the people’s aspirations for peace, good governance, development, and prosperity.

His office stated that he highlighted the responsibility to uphold these goals through the constitution and the federal democratic republican system, achieved through immense struggle and sacrifice.

“We must ensure that the constitution and democratic governance deliver sustainable peace, development, and prosperity, as the people desire. This is something we must never forget,” President Paudel said.

He urged leaders and citizens to prioritize public interest and service, end corruption, inefficiency, and malpractice, and accelerate development through good governance.

He described elections as the best means to steer the nation toward a solution in the current changing context.

President Paudel also called for mutual understanding, coordination, and cooperation to avoid the country falling into political stagnation, emphasizing that successful elections are a collective responsibility.

Highlighting youth migration for education and employment as a pressing concern, he said, “We must invest in education and create opportunities domestically to end the worrying trend of young people leaving the country. Developing new avenues for employment, production, and entrepreneurship at home is our shared duty.”

He stressed the growing need for quality, technology-driven, and value-based education, urging schools to instill knowledge, ethics, skills, and cultural values. “Education is the foundation of nation-building, and the government must prioritize it,” he said.

President Paudel further emphasized modernizing, commercializing, and industrializing agriculture and linking education with entrepreneurship through innovation, research, and vocational training to make it practical and life-oriented, aligning learning with the country’s development needs.
