New School Building Inaugurated in Udayapur under India’s High Impact Community Development Project
Kathmandu: The newly constructed building of Bal Mandir Secondary School in Triyuga Municipality, Gaighat, was officially inaugurated by Basant Kumar Basnet, Mayor of Triyuga Municipality, and Garima Nautiyal, Second Secretary at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, on January 15.
The construction of the school building and allied facilities was carried out under the High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) with financial assistance from the Government of India, implemented through Triyuga Municipality. Shree Bal Mandir Secondary School, established in 1988, provides education from pre-primary to secondary level to students in Udayapur District.
During the inauguration, the Mayor, school management, and other stakeholders appreciated India’s support, noting that the new infrastructure would strengthen the region’s education sector.
HICDPs reflect the ongoing multi-sectoral cooperation between India and Nepal, supporting Nepal’s development priorities and enhancing grassroots-level infrastructure in education, health, and other key sectors.
