KATHMANDU: Despite the government-declared public holidays for the House of Representatives election, the Supreme Court will remain open to hear bail and direct remand petitions, the court’s spokesperson Arjun Koirala said.

The court will operate from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on all days during the holiday period, except on the election day and Saturday.

The government has announced public holidays from March 4 to 6, with Saturday, March 7, and International Women’s Day on March 8 also falling within the period.

During this time, the Supreme Court will hear relevant petitions to ensure judicial proceedings are not disrupted.
