Chelsea draws Arsenal; Liverpool beat West Ham 2-0

KATHMANDU: Chelsea, reduced to 10 men, held league leaders Arsenal to a 1-1 draw in a dramatic London derby at Stamford Bridge.

The match was filled with highs and lows, with Arsenal aiming to extend their gap over second-placed Manchester City to seven points.

After the draw, Arsenal now lead Chelsea by six points at the start of December.

Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo received a red card in the 38th minute, seemingly giving Arsenal the advantage.

However, early in the second half, Trevoh Chalobah headed Chelsea into the lead. Arsenal responded in the 59th minute as Mikel Merino converted Bukayo Saka’s excellent cross to level the score.

Despite pushing for a winner, Arsenal could not find the decisive goal.

The draw leaves Chelsea in third place, having overtaken Aston Villa, while Arsenal and Chelsea remain separated by six points, both with 30 points.

Liverpool Defeat West Ham 2-0

Liverpool returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over West Ham at London Stadium.

Alexander Isak scored his first Premier League goal for the club in the 60th minute, giving Liverpool the lead, after his initial attempt was saved by West Ham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola.

West Ham, reduced to 10 men in the second half, could not mount a comeback. Cody Gakpo sealed the win in the second minute of injury time.

The win lifts Liverpool to eighth place in the table, securing a crucial three points after three consecutive losses.
