KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen) has been bereaved of his father.

Ramnarayan Shah (77) passed away in Kathmandu on Monday. He had been undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital, New Baneshwar.

Shah had fallen unconscious on Sunday morning after developing cardiac complications. He was taken to Civil Hospital while still unconscious.

According to doctors, Shah had developed a urinary tract infection that had spread through his body and reached his brain.

Ramnarayan is survived by his wife, one daughter, and two sons.
