Now banks can merge or merge branches in the metropolis
Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has made provisions for the merger or merger of banks and financial institutions in metropolitan cities.
The central bank has made this provision through the first quarterly review of the monetary policy for the current fiscal year released today. It is stated that arrangements would be made for the banks and financial institutions themselves to merge or merge their branches in the metropolis in the context of the increase in e-payment transactions and significant number of branches of banks and financial institutions in the metropolis.
Provisions related to anti-graft policy would be made for enhancing transparency, accountability and good governance in the banks and financial institutions keeping in view the international good practices and the domestically developed practices, the review stated.
