‘Mirmire’ starring Dayahang Rai hits theaters today
KATHMANDU: The Nepali film Mirmire, starring Dayahang Rai, has hit theaters today, coinciding with the Maghe Sankranti holiday.
Directed and written by Yam Sherpa and presented by Yarsa Films, Mirmire explores the emotional bond between a father and daughter, intertwined with a complex love triangle.
Dayahang Rai said he took on the role to challenge the notion that Nepali actors lack passion.
The film features an ensemble cast including Dayahang Rai, Prakash Saput, Sirjana Ninglekhu, Maotse Gurung, Chhulthim Gurung, Bholaraj Sapkota, Bimal Yadav, Shaisa Gauchan, Divisha Pant, Chirag Shrestha, and Namanraj Gajurel.
Producers include Nimu Sherpa, Chhonga Lama Sherpa, and Angchiring Sherpa, with co-producers Govinda Bohara and Sudip Kunwar.
Rohit Kattel of RR Films serves as executive producer and distributor alongside Ratna Shrestha.
Running 105 minutes, Mirmire has secured over 150 shows nationwide.
Kathmandu’s largest multiplex chain, QFX, is screening 16 shows, while INI’s six outlets have 11 shows.
Other cinemas, including Big Movies, FCube, and One Cinemas, are also showcasing the film across multiple locations.
